On March 15, 2024, nearly 500 players from 73 countries and regions around the world gathered at the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center to compete for the highest honor in Heyball and the 5 million Yuan (691,000USD) championship prize money. The famed post millennial player Zhao Ruliang, one of the Duya Legend Team members, born in 2002, achieved runner-up in 2024 final and claim 1.5 million yuan (207,300USD) prize money.
The JOY Cup 12th Heyball Masters Grand Finals started from March 22 to April 3. It has been held for eleven consecutive years since 2013 and recognized and supported by the World Pool Association (WPA) and the International Confederation of Chinese Billiards (ICEA), as well as enthusiastically promoted by the majority of billiards sports enthusiasts. In 2023, the 11th JOY Cup Global Finals Champion Prize money was up to 5 million RMB, which made the Masters Tournament the highest billiards tournament in the world.
Zhao Ruliang has long participated in many Masters Tournaments. In 2013, the 12-year-old boy made his debut in the Masters. Then in five years, he has entered the Masters top-8 five times. Moreover, he was the only teenager in the finals who has dominated the top-16 of the standings for a long time. Besides JOY masters, he also won the 6th CBSA Chinese Billiards World Championship on 16th December, 2023, in Yushan, Jiangxi Province.
The winner was one of the China’s top player, Chu Bingjie, who was entitled for 5 million yuan (691,000USD).
